Strategy
Roadways
The opportunity is at hand with the implementation of the new Lake Oconee Parkway boulevard. If we do this right we will no longer be referred to as trashy.
Right Of Way Maintenance
Just imagine being able see the lake when you drive across the bridges versus weeds and overgrown bushes. The county, Georgia Power and the citizens can make this happen.
Signage
Signage is - anything goes - our neighbors in Greene County have it figured out - we just need to follow their lead - work is underway with Putnam County on this issue.
Landscaping
This is the difference maker - landscaping in the boulevard and along the right of way of the new Lake Oconee Parkway can make our community picturesque !
Zoning
The Lake Oconee Community needs an overlay Commercial Neighborhood zoning district which defines specific commercial uses. Greene County uses this approach in the Reynolds area.
